Haiti

Today I read an article about the Haiti earthquake and how it affected people there. Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world, and on top of that they have just had a horrible earthquake. Haiti is about the size of Maryland. Because of all the damage this earthquake has left thousands of people homeless and dead. Because of the way there houses and shelters were built they could not withstand the earthquake. Nothing really could withstand the earthquake, but many people try to help. Even tho there is Americans helping there is still a large amount of people dieing from diseases and untreated wounds, they don't have the proper tools to survive and take care of these diseases. There are lots of kids, babies, and adults getting rushed to the United States and airlifted, many children cant get treated there for serious conditions, that's why America is one of the best places they will go to get help for there conditions.
